NORWAY -- The Outreach Ministry of Norway Baptist Church will sponsor its first Community Singspiration on Saturday, May 17.

Featuring vocalists and musicians from area churches, the event will begin at 5 p.m. on the front porch of Norway Baptist Church. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Featured vocalists will include Kathy Jo Rutland; Patti Bates, Willow Swamp Baptist Church; Amber McCain, Columbia Road Church of God; Janice Jones, Bethel Baptist Church; Kaye Rutland, Two-Mile Baptist Church; Nellie Griffith, Neeses Baptist Church; Ellen Magoon, David Branham, Melissa Brundige and William and Janie Doles, Norway Baptist; and Peggie and Gene Walter of Norway Baptist and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

The purpose of the Singspiration is to promote fellowship among area churches and the community. Outreach Ministry officials said they hope the event will be the first of many to bring people of all faiths closer in the mission of the universal church.

The Rev. Johnnie Bailey is pastor of Norway Baptist, and Ben Cupp is associate minister of outreach and evangelism.
