HOPKINS -- The Lower Richland Heritage Corridor will present its annual Memorial Day/Heritage Day Celebration beginning at 11 a.m. Monday, May 26, with a solemn service at the government cemetery site with the Lower Richland Veterans Formation and St. John Baptist Church in Hopkins.

The second part of the celebration will be held at noon at the historic Harriet Barber House on Lower Richland Boulevard. Entertainment will be provided by jazz artists, Uniq'Blend of Charlotte, N.C., and the Abatsu African Drummers and Dancers. There will be carnival rides for the children, food vendors and arts and crafts vendors. A trip back in time to the 19th century will be experienced with guided tours of the Harriet Barber House.
