Sherman's March Bus Tours May 17

COLUMBIA -- Two of the most popular historic bus tours in the Midlands will roll out again Saturday, May 17, as part of the weeklong activities for National Tourism Week, May 10-18.

The tours will feature both Gen. William T. Sherman's left and right wings as the Union army entered Lexington County and the city of Columbia in February 1865. The narrated tours, sponsored by the Greater Columbia Civil War Alliance, bring to life one of the most significant times in South Carolina's history.

The tours will depart from the Columbia Regional Visitors Center, 1101 Lincoln St. Sherman's March Right Wing Tour will depart at 9 a.m., and the Left Wing Tour will depart at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17. Tickets are $20 for each tour. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 803-545-0002.
