The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s announced Thursday the arrests of seven individuals, most on drug-related charges, during separate police illegal narcotics operations.

Sheriff Larry Williams said that on May 1, investigators executed a search warrant at 4620 Daniel Street in Orangeburg, where an estimated 453 grams of marijuana, 4.5 grams of crack cocaine, three handguns and about $1,600 were located.

“I would define this group as street-level people,” Williams said. “We start at the perimeter of the drug sales and we work to infiltrate the core to eliminate the distribution of this.”

At around 4 p.m. on May 1, Williams said, Special Response Team officers converged on a Daniel Street mobile home to execute a search warrant obtained in what was then an ongoing investigation.

The team members made an unforced entry into the mobile home and found five individuals gathered around a kitchen table. The subjects were ordered to the floor, the sheriff said.

A search of the mobile home turned up a blue nylon bag that contained 16 plastic bags of what appeared to be marijuana. Another bag contained what later tested to be crack cocaine, Williams said.

Two .38 caliber handguns, along with a .40 caliber handgun, were seized in the structure, the sheriff said.

Arrested were:

* Thomas Glover, 29, of 4620 Daniel St., Orangeburg was charged with two counts of distribution of crack cocaine, possession of a Schedule III substance, possession of a Schedule IV substance.

* Jonathan Green, 22, of 223 Beason Rd., Orangeburg was charged with distribution of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a Schedule IV substance.

* Brandon Barnes, 17, of 4250 North Rd., Orangeburg was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

* A 22-year-old Cordova man was arrested for failure to appear on a family court bench warrant.

* Dwaine Snell, 35, of 2463 Blossom Rd., Orangeburg was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within proximity of a school.

* Rown Washington, 33, of 154 Laquinta Drive, Orangeburg was charged with distribution of crack cocaine.
