May Day celebration delights OPS family, friends
Saturday, May 10, 2008Orangeburg Preparatory Schools students ushered in spring with their annual May Day celebration Sunday, May 4. Maria Leigh Thompson was crowned May Queen; Anne Griffin Patterson, Maid of Honor; and Christen Taylor Dawkins was crowned Junior May Queen.
Highlights of the entertainment extravaganza included a fifth-grade "High School Musical" dance medley, pictured; a first- and second-grade routine to "Splish Splash," complete with bathrobes and sponges; and a finely choreographed "Thriller," performed by the senior class boys.
Third-graders wowed the crowd with a country line dance, and the traditional May Pole dance was performed by the fourth grade. Needless to say, the queen's court and a packed house of Orangeburg Prep parents and friends were royally entertained!
