BRANCHVILLE -- The Yellow Jacket, the yearbook for Branchville High School and Lockett Elementary School, was recently recognized for excellence and highlighted in the 2008 Jostens Gotcha Covered Look Book.

Published annually by Jostens, the 2008 edition is the sixth volume of this industry-leading publication. The Gotcha Covered Look Book features a collection of creative themes, dynamic covers, story-telling copy and action-packed photography that is selected from outstanding yearbooks from across the country. The Gotcha Covered Look Book is a popular reference guide for yearbook advisers and staffs seeking ideas, trends and inspiration.

The Branchville and Lockett schools' Yellow Jacket was one of 475 yearbooks selected from thousands submitted to a panel of judges that included nationally-recognized scholastic journalism professionals and award-winning yearbook advisers.

The Yellow Jacket is featured in the Covers Gallery section of the 2008 Gotcha Covered Look Book. The yearbook was led by yearbook adviser Debra McConnell. The staff included senior Katy Thompson, editor-in-chief; senior Elizabeth Fogle, business manager; senior Jamie Johns; junior Emily McCormick; and sophomores Vanessa Goldsmith and Jalyssa Monroe.

McConnell and her yearbook staff received a Look Book certificate from Jostens to recognize their outstanding achievement. This is the second year in a row that the Yellow Jacket has been featured for its creative cover.
