Swansea student charged with assaulting females

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies on Wednesday arrested a 19-year-old male Swansea High School student on charges that he tried to assault five female students, ages 15 to 17.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said deputies arrested Daonte Mario Turner, 19, of 325 Happy Town Road, Gaston, on one count of assault with intent to commit first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of committing or attempting to commit a lewd act on a child under the age of 16, four counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and one count of indecent exposure.

Arrest warrants allege that on multiple occasions, Turner exposed himself to students and grabbed their private parts. Officials allege that on one occasion, he attempted to force a student to perform a sexual act on him.
