CORDOVA -- Clowns and cotton candy and trapeze artists -- oh, my!
You don't have to go far to enjoy this and much more at the 2008 edition of the Wonderland Circus, Monday, Feb. 11, at Edisto High School. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., and the show begins at 6:30 p.m.
The "spectacular" 2008 edition will feature the Russian Perifly Duo Double trapeze artists, the Elaine Campa Vazquez Trio on the rolling globes, the Amazing Bruno Vazquez Rolla Bolla, the Dazzling Irina Vertennikova Russian aerialist in the triangle trapeze, the enchanting Nadia Argentina Campa Vazquez sword-balancing act, Bill Brickle and his poodle fantasy, Ronco the clown, the daring Elaine Campa Vazquez's aerial chiffon, Alan Black's supreme juggling and more, all complete with lively circus fare and music provided by musical director Alan Thompson.
Advance tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for students, with tickets at the door $5 for adults and $4 for students.
Ringmaster and circus owner Bill Brickle is a 1945 graduate of Cope High School and has been in the circus business since 1954, beginning his career as a clown with the Bailey Brothers and Christiana Circus. He has been touring small schools for more than 30 years -- only bringing his show to South Carolina schools -- and is America's oldest ringmaster at the age of 81.
