2017 High School Players of the Week
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Bailey Ackerman

Senior fullback Bailey Ackerman of Andrew Jackson Academy rushed 29 times for 190 yards and
a touchdown, while adding a touchdown reception and a 2-point conversion run in Friday’s 30-24
SCISA 8-man Division I state semifinal win at home against Clarendon Hall. Ackerman also led the
defense with 8 tackles, as AJA advanced to play for its third straight state title this Saturday at Calhoun
Academy against Jefferson Davis Academy at 1 p.m.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- KeSean Brown

Junior linebacker KeSean Brown led Bamberg-Ehrhardt with 9 tackles, including 3 tackles for losses,
in Friday’s 42-7 home playoff win against Latta in SCHSL Class 2A postseason play. Brown added 82
yards rushing and two touchdown runs from his tailback slot, as the Red Raiders advanced to play at
2nd-ranked Carvers Bay this Friday night.
The two players will be recognized at the Orangeburg Touchdown Club meeting on Thursday, Nov.
16 at The Cinema. The OTC meal begins at 11:30 a.m., with the meeting to follow at noon. Guest
speaker for the meeting will be former South Carolina head football coach and current Clemson
assistant athletic director Brad Scott.
